Prologue, page 1

Edit: Some people told me they’d be interested in reading here (in the description section) about the references to celtic artwork and the folklore stories that I make throughout the comic. I did read a lot in preparation for this comic so I’ll be more than happy to talk about it, as a hobby reader in this subject, not a professional, of course. I’ll be adding these info snippets on pages where it is relevant.

These two prologue pages are based on the illuminated script of a bible from the 8th or 9th century AD, the “Book of Kells”. Although a christian bible, it features a lot of typically celtic ornaments and fantastical creatures, that clearly have their roots in pre-christian faith. I really recommend looking at the original pages for this, the level of intricacy is absolutely mind-blowing.
